In this podcast, I interview Tony Jones – author, commentator, freelance theologian, and many other things.
Tony is the author of The New Christians: Dispatches from the Emergent Frontier and is theologian-in-residence at Solomon’s Porch in Minneapolis. He is a doctoral fellow in practical theology at Princeton Theological Seminary, the author of many books on Christian ministry and spirituality, and is a sought after speaker and consultant in the areas of emerging church, postmodernism, and Christian spirituality.
In this podcast we discuss the emerging/emergent church, evangelicalism, preaching, worship, theology, and homosexuality. About half way into the interview, the audio gives out a bit, but Tony relocates to a quieter venue. Tony blogs here.
There are some who say that evangelicals and emergents can’t have a cordial chat, Tony certainly proves them wrong.
On this podcast, I talk to Don Piper, author of 90 Minutes In Heaven. Also in the podcast is an interview with co-author Cecile Murphey. Murphey discusses his first reaction to Piper’s story, and also shares some thoughts about the process of writing.
When an 18 wheeler crossed the center line and crashed into his Ford Escape, Don Piper was killed instantly. “I was covered up,” he said, “and they were waiting for the medical examiner to come in and fill out the paper work so the body could be transported to a mortuary.”
But was death the ending for him? As Piper recounts, the real journey had just begun . . .
For the launch of my podcast, I interviewed Tim Miller, a man who witnessed the martyrdom of his friend in the Philippines earlier this year. Tim managed to fend off ten assailants who were trained in Philippino stick fighting. Before being knocked unconscious with a blow to the face, Tim saved the life of his friend’s wife and two daughters.
