Upcoming Pilgrimage to Italy

For Spring Break I am taking a pilgrimage to Italy. While this trip has several dimensions, our primary agenda includes traveling through Perugia as we follow in the footsteps of Saint Francis of Assisi.

Here is my itenerary if you wish to keep us in your prayers:

Thursday, March 15: Fly to Rome, Italy

Friday, March 16: Get over jet lag :)

Saturday, March 17: Visit friends at the Vatican and also see Saint Paul’s outside the walls (beneath the altar, they have just discovered the bones of a martyr who was beheaded in the first century)

Sunday, March 18: Mass at Saint Peter’s Basilica and then I will be lecturing on the ancient practice of pilgrimage at the Sala di Lettura for one hour

Monday, March 19-Sunday, March 25: Travel through Perugia to retrace the steps of Saint Francis, though we will certainly make room for gelato (hazelnut all the way!)

Sunday, March 25: Leave for home
